Weastec proudly recognizes the hard work of all its associates from those in their first years of employment to those with many years of service.
Quarterly, Weastec spotlights these associates to acknowledge them for all they do!
Meet the associates that make Weastec a great place to work!
Philip Claes has worked for Weastec at the Dublin, OH facility for the last 8.5 years! As a Lead Design Engineer, Phil takes customer specifications and design surfaces to create functioning, reliable switch units. The process begins with making 3D CAD data of the parts inside the assembly as well as the production drawings and documenting the design process and verification steps.
In his role, Phil works closely with other departments at Weastec. Specifically, New Model, Sales, Electrical, and Test to make sure the project is a success from start to finish. It is enjoyable to be able to work with other departments to find the best design.
Phil enjoys seeing the parts he has worked on in the computer come back from the factory as functioning assemblies. All the time spent overcoming challenges feels like success when you can physically hold the part in the real world.
“I really appreciate all the things all the departments do to make our pixels of CAD data become parts and go out into the world.”
Phil stated that he has learned many things at Weastec. Among the most valuable, “The ability to learn new concepts and skills.” New and upcoming projects require new or different knowledge. It is important to continue learning and be able to adapt.
In his free time, Phil enjoys heading to the park to walk with his wife or nightly “Jam-time” with the kids listening to music and having fun!
Thank you, Phil for all you do for Weastec!
