Weastec Supports HighCo in Dash for DD 5k
On Saturday, May 17th, a group of Weastec associates came together at the opening day of the Hillsboro Farmers Market to support HighCo, Inc. in their Dash for DD 5k. At Weastec, associates can engage in quarterly wellness challenges, which contribute to credits towards their health insurance premiums. The latest challenge was titled “Make Your Way to a 5K.” Participants tracked their daily steps and activities manually or synced their data with their phones or wearable devices. Additionally, they received a calendar with daily distance recommendations for walking or running throughout the challenge.
To complement the wellness initiative, Weastec offered associates the chance to take part in the 5k. While participation in the race was not mandatory for earning credits, we registered those who wanted a specific goal to work towards. We take immense pride in our associates for their dedication to achieving their goals!
The Dash for DD 5k is a vibrant color run that supports HighCo, Inc., located at 5215 US-HWY 50 in Hillsboro. HighCo’s mission is to “assist persons with developmental disabilities to maximize their independence and human dignity, presence and participation in community life, status as community members and potential for growth and development.” This year marked their 10th annual Dash for DD! Weastec proudly helped sponsor the event and a team of our associates!
