Weastec Sends Support to Victims of Hurricane Helene
October 8th through October 18th, Weastec associates collected items to deliver to Matthew 25 Ministries that will be disbursed to the victims of Hurricane Helene. Associates were divided into teams and the winning team will receive a pizza luncheon. Anyone who donated was also eligible to enter their name into a raffle to win a candy-filled Pumpkin Scarecrow!
The response from everyone was heartwarming and enthusiastic, with boxes quickly filling up with essential supplies like non-perishable food items, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. Associates collected over 500 items to help the victims with Pass Thru leading the pack at 243 items! NM/QE/Inspect Pack were second with 93 items, followed by the Admin Group with 81, PWM & CBS with 76, Receiving/ME/PE with 48 and Production Control/Shipping with 21! The candy-filled Pumpkin Scarecrow was won by Pauline Haithcock!
In addition to the physical supplies our associates donated, Weastec also sent monetary donations to four disaster relief charities that are tirelessly working away at clean-up efforts. Those four charities are All Hands and Hearts, MANNA Foodbank, Operation Airdrop-Operation Helene, and Save the Children-Children’s Emergency Fund.
