Weastec Receives Honda Energy Reduction Award

September 22, 2022 Weastec Inc. received the Honda Energy Reduction Award. Honda Development & Manufacturing of America recognized Weastec for their outstanding energy reduction activities over the past decade. The presentation took place at the Honda Supplier Sustainability Symposium at The Exchange in Dublin, Ohio. Weastec was one of only a couple of suppliers given this award for 2022. Weastec’s decade long initiative was led by our purchasing department and included utilization of new technologies and upgrades to existing infrastructure. This activity allowed Weastec to meet a 10 year goal of reducing our greenhouse gases by over 10%.

The Honda Sustainability Symposium was an educational three day event, that a number of Weastec associates attended. Sustainability topics included, environmental, governance, compliance, trade, diversity and safety. In addition to our award, Weastec had Janet Paris and Angie Allard speaking on our IMDS (International material data system) program. Weastec was selected as a benchmark supplier in this area which provides our customers with transparency in regard to the materials that we utilized to produce our products.

Receiving the award for Weastec were Craig Miley, Vice President & Robert Moots, Purchasing Senior Manager. Also attending the symposium were Shawn Conlon, Corporate Governance Senior Manager; Justin Cooper, Business Development Senior Manager; Angie Allard, Business Management Assistant Manager and Janet Paris, Document Control Administrator.
