Pollinator Steward Certification Program at Weastec

Pollinator Partnership is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the health of pollinators essential for food production and ecosystems through conservation, education, and research. Looking ahead, Pollinator Partnership aims to create a sustainable and equitable world for both people and pollinators, ensuring that food production, ecosystems, and economies flourish.

Each year, Pollinator Partnership runs the Pollinator Steward Certification (PSC) program. To achieve certification, participants must complete a 7-part virtual training module, followed by a brief learning form to share their insights. Additionally, candidates must undertake one habitat creation project and one outreach or educational initiative. Over the past year, the Weastec BioTEC team has been diligently working towards certification. James Jackson and Cathy Stevens represented the team by completing the virtual training sessions, while the BioTEC group enhanced the flower bed outside the smoking area to support pollinators. Furthermore, they shared monthly conservation information on the cafeteria television at WHO, through Weastec Connect, and on the Weastec website.

In October, Weastec received an invitation to apply for the Pollinator Partnership’s Star Stewards program, which recognizes particularly impactful stewards. We are thrilled to announce that Weastec has been selected as a Star Steward and is now featured on the Pollinator Partnership website! Check out the full listing on their site here!
