Adopt a Family Christmas at Weastec
Weastec teamed up with Highland County Community Action again this year to adopt some in need families in the county. Associates were offer some fun rewards for meeting certain milestones. At ten kids adopted Debbie would dress up as an elf and pass out candy canes, at 15 kids we would have jeans day at Weastec, at 20 kids Bryan and Julie would receive a festive pie in the face, at 25 kids Craig would dress up as the Grinch and 30 kids Justin, Shawn & Doug would perform a fun Christmas dance.

Weastec associate ended up meeting all milestones and adopted 41 kids. The gifts were all brought into Weastec and on December 5th we delivered the gifts to Highland County Community Action. We adopted more than double the amount of kids from last year. Highland County Community Action is working to have nearly 600 kids adopted so that every Highland county child can have a great Christmas.

Jennifer Ianson headed up the program at Weastec and had this to say to our associates. “I hope you all honestly take a second to think about the lives you changed by participating in Adopt-a-Family. It seems like such a small action, but picture the kids that still believe in Santa, and they wake up to nothing. They return to school to listen to their classmates gloat about the gifts they received while they sit there silently wondering why Santa didn’t visit them. They play back the memories from the past year and wonder about the ways they should have been better in hopes that he would come next year. You changed that. You gave them the spirit of Christmas by spending your own hard-earned money on children you didn’t even know to help them keep their hope in humanity alive. Every single one of you should be proud of your contributions, I know I am so proud of you.”
