At Toyodenso, the automation of key processes is not only a manufacturing principle but also a key quality principle for our production. Automation allows for 100 percent repeatability in critical process, visual differentiation beyond what human senses are capable of perceiving and ensures the safety of associates in potentially dangerous processes.
Applications of paint, coatings and grease are very difficult to control but through robotics we can perform tens of millions of coats per year with precision. Automated winders wrap copper wire, thinner than the diameter of a human hair, around a plastic bobbin at well over 10,000 RPM. Vision systems ensure correct positioning of terminals, verify placement of discrete component on PCBs and check for critical processes. Final quality checks confirm outputs, force stroke, illumination intensity and chromaticity and final inspections check all functionality of our products.
